Powerlift Introduction
Welcome to the PowerLift Face Yoga course. Thank you for signing up and joining me to keep your face sculpted, toned and naturally radiant.
My first course, the Glow course was designed to teach you efficient facial exercise habits. I set out to share how I have slotted a few minutes of practice into my daily routine to ensure my skin is de-stressed and healthy. The course feedback I have since received proved to me that being honest about how I manage to do it, has made it achievable for you too.
PowerLift is suitable for beginners who haven’t yet tried the Glow course, but it’s a longer course and far more involved. I will teach you more about facial anatomy and why I have structured the course like I have, so that you can build your knowledge and skill as you progress through the different sections. The understanding is empowering, and it will help you to connect to the course.
Once you are accomplished (and have worked through the whole course at least once) there is a Daily FastTrack Lifting Routine to try. This is what I do every day. It is a few minutes of all the toning techniques squished together so that you can recap the juicy stuff and follow along quickly to get a visibly lifted face. You should see results within a couple of weeks, and notice structural facial changes within a couple of months of daily practice.
An overview of my credentials
I qualified as a Beauty Therapist in 2013 having gained a Level 2 NVQ Diploma with the VTCT. I worked until I had my first child and offered services such as Gel Manicures, Waxing, Lash Tinting, and Tanning, alongside my favourite treatment – Facials.
After having two children and moving to Yorkshire I decided to start up again in 2020 but with a focus on holistic treatments. I trained and qualified as a Face Yoga teacher in July 2021, with leading Face Yoga Expert Danielle Collins. I then went onto to advance my Anatomy & Physiology to Level 3 and qualified in Indian Head Massage with City & Guilds in 2022. I have also trained within Facial Cupping (2022), Facial Gua Sha (2023), and in May 2024 I qualified as an Advanced Gua Sha Therapist. This enables me to offer Facial Diagnostics and Gua Sha treatments using the Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
I have gone deeper and narrower over time, all whilst using my Face Yoga skills to share and teach the healing benefits of naturally rejuvenating facial techniques. At a time when needles offer a quick fix, I am keen to encourage you to harness the power that you hold within to heal yourself naturally.
I am a busy mid-life Mum and if I can fit Face Yoga into my daily life then I am confident that you can too - my face isn’t perfect but at 44 I am giving it love & care and feel happy with it. The Powerlift course will help you to get comfortable with meeting yourself where you are and using Face Yoga to give you a physical and emotional lift.
I hope that you enjoy the course – my inbox is always open,
Amy

Neck & shoulders
Don’t skip this bit! This is because your lymph flow depends on movement, deep breathing and light massage. Take as long as you think you deserve – the more stressed you are, the longer you should spend as this routine will get you out of your head and into your body.

You will be lifting and loosening your Scalp and will understand the theory behind why you need to do this regularly. Try it and you will be amazed at how you feel, it is energising! If you have no hair, or short hair then you can massage instead of tugging.

Facial tension release routine
This routine is all about getting to know your skin, as well as softening your skin before trying the Toning Techniques. You can do this routine as part of a facial cleanse. The lymphatic drainage requires gentle featherlight strokes to de-puff. When you are massaging the jawline, forehead and temples, it is about connecting to your skin so that you realise where you are holding tension, and you can then start to release & relax.

Lengthen and stretch your neck
Be careful! You must always start gently with your neck. Do the ‘Neck & Shoulders’ warm up routine first. Please don’t do this if your neck feels very tense or tight. If you have any neck issues, please seek the advice of a relevant medical professional before you begin.

Release & tone your jaw
Cover your lips with your teeth, make an O-shape with your mouth and stretch out as wide as you can. The wider the better. When you sweep upwards with the flats of your fingers you need to use moderate pressure.

Lift your smile
The pads of your fingers should be pressing into the skin underneath your cheekbones. They are acting to prevent any creases forming when doing this technique, as well as reaching deep into the facial muscles to release tension.

Bulk up your cheeks & brighten your Eyes
Make sure that you are breathing whilst you hold the air in your cheeks. Then start to move the air from one cheek to the other but work slowly – the slower that you go the harder it is to do.

Tone your eyelids
This exercise tones the muscles that allow your eyes to open and close. Your middle fingers create resistance to prevent your eyes from fully closing. You will see an immediate difference after you do this exercise.

Daily fast track lifting routine
This is you go-to routine once you have worked through the whole course. It is a refresh of the five toning techniques with minimal guidance so that you can get a quick refresh to keep up your practice. It is designed to be done daily. You don’t do 20 sit-ups on Monday and expect a six-pack on Tuesday. Consistency is key however, you will see a visible lift within 2-6 weeks if you do this daily.

Course FAQ
-
No. Face Yoga should never be painful. It may feel tender if you are holding tension within your facial muscles but it should never hurt. Your intuition is powerful so you should start using a gentle pressure and as your soften & release tension you can increase the pressure you apply.
-
You should consult with the relevant medical professional before you begin practicing Face Yoga. If you suffer from neck issues then either refrain from techniques that involve the neck muscles, or follow medical guidance and be extremely gentle so as to assist natural healing.
-
Yes. It is suitable for beginners who have never tried Face Yoga before. It is also suitable if you have tried it before and want to do it daily yet you feel overwhelmed like you don’t know where to start as there is just so much available online. This course incorporates all of the key elements of Face Yoga.
-
The course covers tension release within the neck, shoulders, scalp and face. It also contains facial muscle toning techniques for the forehead, eyes, cheeks and mouth, as well as a glow-boosting facial massage routine to rejuvenate your skin naturally.
-
You should always begin with clean hands and clean skin. You will need to apply some glide to your skin before doing some of the techniques and you will need to seated comfortably. I have a shop with some product recommendations if you need to purchase any skincare to assist your Face Yoga practice.
-
You will see and feel the results every time that you practice the techniques. This is because they will brighten your skin by shifting toxins and stagnation. They will also soften the skin to release tension, as well as boosting blood flow to rejuvenate the skin and aid the body’s natural production of collagen. From personal experience the ‘lifting’ effect will take anything from 2-8 weeks. This is because your facial muscles need a consistent daily workout to build tone & volume. However, they are much smaller than other muscles in the body and so the results can be seen and felt relatively quickly plus, the muscles have memory so each time that you practice you will be making a positive difference.
-
No! It is a natural way to brighten your skin and keep it healthy & glowing. Yes, it can address the common key ageing concerns such as hooded eyelids, jowls and smile lines however, it is a holistic approach to your well-being that also calms the mind and enables your skin to do what it does naturally when you are not in a ‘stressed’ state. When we are stressed we can hold tension in our facial muscles, and our skin can appear puffy & dull. Face Yoga can undo this and leaving you feeling lighter.
